National Data Exchange (N-DEx) National Data Exchange (N-DEx) — a national investigative information sharing system giving access to records from across the nation to aid in criminal investigations. Investigators can review criminal justice data from state, local, tribal, regional, and federal agencies, 24/7, from any secure Internet-capable device. Data includes incident reports, arrest reports, booking and incarceration reports, pre-trial investigations, and probation and parole records.

N-DEx Best Practices Job aid Provides a summary of best practices in the use of N-DEx.
N-DEx Overview Job aid Overview of the National Data Exchange program that provides the capability for sharing, searching, linking, and analyzing local, state, tribal, and federal records, including incident and case reports; arrest, incarceration, and booking data; pre-trial investigations; calls for service; photographs; field contact/identification records; and probation and parole data.
N-DEx Search Function Job aid Provides a summary of the N-DEx seach function, Boolean Operators and wildcard characters, and interpreting returned information.
N-DEx Subscription and Notification Job aid Provides users with the capability to identify a Search, Person Entity, or Record for future updates. Subscriptions may also be set for deconfliction by looking for other N-DEx users who are searching for the same people, places, things, key words, or records.
N-DEx User Management Job aid Provides a quick reference card for management of user's roles and rights to agency/department users.
N-DEx for Law Enforcement Job aid Provides an overview on benefits of using N-Dex for law enforcement agencies.
N-Dex - How To Request Access Job aid Overview on how to access N-DEx and its training materials and policy manual which resides behind the N-DEx Special Interest Group (SIG) portal on LEEP.
N-DEx Policy & Operating Manual Manual Minimum standard used by agencies and users to search, link, analyze and share criminal justice information such as, incident/case reports, incarceration data, and parole/probation data on a national basis. A LEEP account is required to access this manual.
